‘WandaVision’: Our Greatest Questions After That Crazy Third Episode

( Major spoilers ahead for the first 3 episodes of the first Marvel TV series, “WandaVision”)

It’s not a Marvel Cinematic Universe job if you’re not right away bouncing theories off of buddies or asking a concern about something that wasn’t discussed. The very first 3 episodes of “WandaVision” are out now on Disney , and naturally, there are a great deal of concerns to unload. Specifically … what the heck is going on in Westview?!

Who are the twins that Wanda brings to life?

We don’t in fact get confirmed names of the twins, though Wanda and Vision do dispute between “Tommy” and “Billy”– which matches up with Tommy Shepherd and Billy Kaplan, Wanda’s twins from the comics and two of the Young Avengers. We’re pretty sure that this is the introduction of the superheroes Speed and Wiccan, particularly given that Marvel seems to be developing to an eventual Young Avengers team-up. But only time will inform.

What actually is this location Wanda and Vision are stuck in?

The suburban town of Westview is apparently an idyllic, quiet town where Wanda and Vision have actually selected to settle and live out their lives. But is it? Neither of them can keep in mind why they moved there, where they were prior to or, actually, anything at all about their previous lives beyond their crazy superpowers. Possible descriptions for Westview’s existence include a distorted reality in Wanda’s mind that she’s created to block out the trauma she’s experienced in the MCU, or something that an unrevealed third party put in location. Or something else entirely.

It’s easy to forget, after Wanda invested the last couple of motion pictures primarily just utilizing her powers to pound bad guys, that she likewise has mind powers.

Whatever the description, it appears that this world is a location that individuals can physically go into, evaluating by how Wanda ejected Geraldine from it at the end of the third episode. We could be seeing the multiverse in action here.

On top of all that: why would it be a sitcom?

How is Vision even alive?

Tony Stark’s sacrifice in “Endgame” undid Thanos’ breeze and brought back the 50%of the population that disappeared for 5 years, Vision stayed dead. The most obvious guess is that this is a truth constructed in Wanda’s mind, comparable to the Home of M comic story.

Considering that it feels so very unlikely that this show is taking place in real reality, it would then also appear not likely that Vision is really “alive” again. But up until we know what’s actually going on here, it is difficult to speculate on whether this story will cause Vision’s return in films.

Why are Wanda and Vision even there?

This is, we guess, the true central question of this story. While it seems highly likely that this universe is some type of psychological construct, the more appealing mystery is the why of it. Did Wanda do this to herself? Is another group– the folks obviously watching on screens from the outdoors– responsible for it? And what’s the function of it? What those accountable trying to leave it? There will undoubtedly be some type of huge reveal down the line.

What’s SWORD got to finish with it?

Assuming you saw the very first episodes of “WandaVision” on Disney , you definitely saw that red toy helicopter with an unusual sword logo design on the side. That’s the logo for a company called S.W.O.R.D., which is generally an outer space variation of S.H.I.E.L.D., planned to protect Earth from alien threats.

Possibly more appropriate to this conversation is that S.W.O.R.D. was developed for “X-Men” comics, and the company’s history is quite well connected to that of mutants. We wouldn’t have actually thought much of that reality before Disney merged with 20 th Century Fox, when mutants were off the table for the MCU. Now, anything is possible.

A bigger question, possibly: is S.W.O.R.D. handling this simulation, or are they attempting to assist her escape from it? If it’s the latter, then there probably is another, as-yet-unrevealed party involved in all this.

You can find out more about S.W.O.R.D. and what it may suggest for the MCU moving forward here.

Why was Geraldine in Westview to begin with?

It feels like everyone in Westview has some ulterior motive. And Geraldine clearly seemed to realize something was awry when she kept in mind information about Wanda’s brothers death. Why was she in Westview in the first place? Was she put there versus her will or unknowingly as a spy or an experiment? She was wearing a pendant with the S.W.O.R.D. symbol, which indicates she might have also been intentionally charged to place herself in Westview but lost all her memory once she arrived– till Wanda’s mention of her bro jogged her memory. Today, it’s all speculation, but we presume we’ll discover faster instead of later on.

And what are Monica Rambeau and S.W.O.R.D. as much as?

The character of Geraldine, as we knew entering “WandaVision,” is in fact Monica Rambeau— the young girl we met in “Captain Marvel.” Some time in the two-and-a-half years in between that film and today, Geraldine/Monica relatively wound up involved with S.W.O.R.D., an organization she has no tie to in the comics.

But Monica was wearing their logo in the 3rd episode, and so clearly she has some ties to the company here– not extremely a surprise considering her mom was a Flying force pilot and might extremely well have actually ended up being an astronaut after her foray into outer space in “Captain Marvel.”

When Monica “broke through” and brought up Wanda’s brother Pietro and Ultron, Wanda seemed to realize something was incorrect. We don’t see what took place to Monica, but Wanda just told Vision “she left” and when we do see her again, she’s awakening stunned and puzzled in the middle of a field, a bunch of agents (S.W.O.R.D. representatives?) rushing towards her. And when the video camera pulls back, we see what appears like some sort of forcefield dome, probably where Westview is.

So where did she end up?

Our best guess? This is a center developed to attempt to break Wanda out of whatever this world of hers is.

Why did a beekeeper climb out of the sewage system?

This man had a S.W.O.R.D. logo design on the back of his fit, so his obligation is quite clear.

This man is probably not a substantial Marvel character on his own. The program credits stuntman Zac Henry as the beekeeper, and it’s not extremely most likely that they’re going to provide him a starring role.

Who is Agnes?

Agnes is clearly more than a meddlesome neighbor Who exactly is she? Could Agnes be a cover for Marvel witch Agatha Harkness, who is popular for being one of Wanda’s the majority of significant coaches? If so, is Agnes the one managing Wanda’s reality? Or is she serving as some sort of tutorial program, keeping Wanda engaged in this truth and life so she does not believe otherwise?

It deserves mentioning that she certainly does not like Geraldine, given that she’s an outsider. So Agnes is most likely crucial.

What’s up with those fake commercials?

” WandaVision” took its comedy tributes seriously, and that consists of 50’s and 60’s design commercials.

What happens when Vision eats other things?

In the 2nd episode, we saw what happens when Vision eats a piece of gum, swallowing it by accident. It remained lodged in his body, affecting his movements. (He is an android, after all.) Vision tells Wanda in the first episode that he doesn’t consume food, and the gum event appears to verify why. The gum just disarmed him somewhat, it didn’t precisely hurt him. So what takes place when he eats other food? Does it affect his inner-workings the very same way? Does it have no affect at all?

What was up with that red helicopter?

Wanda discovers a curious red toy helicopter in her front bushes, but it’s a secret where it’s from. Or did Geraldine or some other S.W.O.R.D. put it there to try to trigger Wanda out of this insanity?

While we have no concept what the significance of the little helicopter is, the number 57 might be a meta-nod to the reality that Scarlet Witch was first presented in the comics in 1964– 57 years back. However it certainly might have some actually plot significance also.
Who was that voice on the radio?

At one point during the 2nd episode, a radio starts spitting out distorted noises prior to a voice begins calling out to Wanda.

How did Wanda get pregnant?

It’s probably simply an example of “WandaVision” doing a sitcom storyline, with the simulation merely making it occur due to the fact that it’s expected to. It’s still pretty weird! And there are big implications to this– in the comics, Wanda’s twin boys grow up to be superheroes like their mother.

Why do Westview citizens keep chanting “for the children”?

We do have one concept, nevertheless, which you can check out here
